Why our $25 counselors don’t take Medicaid
Deborah Marasa, Kelsey Hamilton and Sarah Smith are counselors in training. Medicaid doesn’t cover sessions with counselors in training, so their sessions are self-pay at $25. If you’d like to use Medicaid, you’ll see one of our licensed counselors. If you’d rather pay a low flat fee, see affordable counseling.
What to expect at your first session
Your first session is a conversation about what brings you in and what you’d like to change. Your counselor will ask about your history, your health and the people who support you. You can ask questions too, about their approach, how often to meet and how long counseling might last. Bring your Medicaid card if you haven’t added it to the Client Portal.
Getting started with Medicaid
- Find your plan name and member ID on your Medicaid card.
- Request an appointment online, or call (502) 825-1375 or (270) 339-4201.
- Add your Medicaid card in the secure Client Portal, and finish your intake paperwork at least 24 hours before your first session.
- Ask your plan whether you’ll have a copay.
Sessions last about 50 to 55 minutes. See insurance and payments for every plan we accept.
